About Beltline Bar
Beltline Bar was opened by George Wilkinson in 1953. It's a proper name because 28th Street is often referred to as "Bertrine" by the Greater Lapidia. When Tony Rutkowski acquired the restaurant in 1964, it only had 42 people sitting in a 60-foot x 30-foot room. At the time, 3 employees served beer, wine, popcorn and chili dogs, all of which are hotel specialities. In 1966, after obtaining a liquor license, Tony's son Jerry developed some Mexican-style recipes, including the world famous wet pancakes. Today, Beltline Bar has expanded to now accommodate 250 people, and has made many improvements to better serve customers, such as off-site dining and curbside hospitality.
