About Belmont Mansion
Belmont Mansion is an Italian villa built between 1849 and 1859. For many years, it has been the summer resort of socialite Adriatic Akron and her family in Nashville, the temporary headquarters of the United Army, a women's college and a seminary. Belmont Mansion is one of the most exquisite pre-war homes in the South, with 36 rooms and 19,000 square feet. The entire estate was built, decorated and beautified by Akrams, with luxurious gardens, art galleries, bowling alleys and a zoo Product. Since being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, the Belmont Building is currently operating as a housing museum, maintained by the Belmont Building Association through admissions, venue rental, event fundraising, and personal and corporate donations.
