The mission of Animal Ark is to inspire environmental management through wildlife education. Since 1981, it has provided a haven for injured, abandoned and other unreleased wildlife. The ark, located on 38 acres north of Reno, is dominated by predatory animals native to North America, although a few alien species have been found in the area. By offering special program-making activities and educational Tours, Animal Ark educates thousands of children and adults each year about ecological principles and wildlife.
