Wine Road was founded in 1976 as a winery and lodging association for Alexander, Dry Creek and the Russian river valley in north Sonoma county. What began as an organization of nine wineries has grown into a vibrant constellation with nearly 200 wineries and 50 residences. The wine trail is an essential resource that guides tourists and locals through the scenic two-way valley and back roads of three valleys, pointing the way to the region's fine wines and fine cuisine. Wine Road trail winds its way through California's most picturesque wine country, taking visitors on exciting Tours of natural beauty, first-class tasting experiences, and unforgettable personal encounters with the state's most loyal winemakers. Even for travelers already familiar with California's wine country, the road to wine may be uncharted territory -- make sure to infuse it with fresh discoveries.
