About Chambers Bay Golf
The land where Chambers Bay Golf is situated is as old as the game of golf itself was developed. Chambers Bay Golf properties is spread out over more than 950 acres in University Place, Washington, along the Puget Sound. Despite the fact that Pierce County only recently acquired ownership of the property, the surrounding land began to take shape more than 200 years ago. The Steilacoom Indians and the first European settlers used the area as a rock quarry for the first time. Their area has served as a paper mill, a major industrial center, multiple lumber companies, a railroad center, a sand and gravel mine, a bus barn, a regional wastewater treatment plant, a preservation and recreation area and now an 18-hole championship golf course of world class quality.
