About Wine And Spirits
Wine And Spirits was first published in 1982 and is published seven times a year. It is read by more than 200,000 members of the American wine community. Consumers and wine professionals read this magazine to learn about established and growing regions and producers, the art and science of viticulture, industry dynamics, and the mix of food and wine. Wine And Spirits is the only wine publication that has won the James Beard award five times and evaluates more than 15,000 bottles of wine annually. All wine evaluations in the Wine Tasting Department are conducted under controlled blind tasting conditions, using numbered cups to hold wine in their own offices (domestic wine in Los Angeles; imported wine in New York). First of all, all wines submitted to them or purchased are tasted by the screening team, and they are asked to decide which wine is superior to the general level in variety and grade.
