About The Cookery
The Cookery cooperated with the Presbyterian Church in the city center to provide a Saturday breakfast for the homeless. Lambscroft also established two "disciples' homes", inhabited by formerly homeless people who seek spiritual learning, community, and a new life. The dream of opening for three years was realized in the summer of 2013. In addition to providing the public with coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and meals, The Cookery has greater uses. There, formerly homeless students receive training and equipment in cooking techniques and food safety to prepare them for employment in the food industry in Nashville. Through all this, God taught them perseverance, resilience, patience and trust.
