Take an Introduction to splitboarding course with Splitboard HQ. All snowboarders can relate to the dream of endless powder, but they have seen many people with little to no experience have terrible first days on Splitboard HQ, which permanently discourages them. Splitboards can be a bit precarious, yet with some master direction and course you can undoubtedly make a repeatble interaction to make them a powerful travel instrument for the backwoods. Participants will learn how to use a splitboard, how to travel efficiently, some basic avalanche safety (not a replacement for AST 1 courses), how to transition like a pro, and how to ride powder in the rockies through this program. On their Avalanche Skills Training course, they will introduce you to safe winter travel in the backcountry. Students will be required to complete some reading prior to the course, which will be discussed in greater detail on two field days with your certified guide. This course follows the extent of the Torrential slide Canada AST 1 program. They'll talk about how to use terrain to reduce risk, how to test snow stability, travel advice, and more.
