The association's news design (SND) is an international organization of news media professionals and visual communicators - especially those who create print/web/mobile publications and products. Their members are responsible for art direction, design, editing, reporting, presentation, making photos and videos, visualizing data and writing code. Founded in 1979, SND is a non-profit organization registered in the United States with approximately 1,500 members worldwide.
