On Two Top Mountain, a mountain in Pennsylvania's Bear Pond Mountains, is Ski Whitetail, a four-season getaway. The ski area first opened for business in 1991, and Snow Time, Inc, the organization that also oversees Liberty Mountain Resort and Ski Roundtop, purchased it a few years later. Peak Resorts later purchased all three resorts Whitetail, Liberty, and Roundtop in 2018. In 2019, Vail Resorts then purchased Peak Resorts. They serve the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area and are situated halfway between Mercersburg, Pennsylvania and Clear Spring, Maryland. Ski Whitetail, which is situated 89 miles from Washington, D. C, and 92 miles from Baltimore, Maryland, is the second and third-closest ski resort to both cities, respectively, after sister resorts Liberty Mountain and Ski Roundtop.
