About Riverbank Theatre
In 2013, they opened The Snug Theatre, their first venue. This 98-seat venue had two goals: to bring professional-quality, affordable performing arts to rural communities and act as a driving force for tourism and economic impact in the area. Their 180-seat Riverbank Theatre opened a year later and quickly began selling out shows. They added the Performing Arts Academy in 2015, transforming the entire operation into a 501c non-profit governed by an eight-member board. The theatres have been operating at nearly 90 per cent capacity thus far, accommodating 22, 900 visitors annually. Riverbank Theatre expanded once more with the addition of a brand-new, 12, 000-square-foot facility thanks to the overwhelming support of theatregoers, local businesses, sponsors, and donors. Ft, 350-seat venue in downtown St. Clair, a town on the riverbank that is just upriver from their current facilities.
