The focus of Punakea Palms's work is to cultivate and promote community awareness of this amazing plant. Over 250 sprouted coconuts they planted 12 years ago are now fully mature fruit trees. Maui's climate provides some of the most ideal growing conditions in the world for coconut trees with over 300 days of sunshine per year. The coconut trees produce fruit year round and these conditions provide their farm with a potential yield of over 10,000 nuts per year. In addition to the coconut trees they also propagate many native tropical plants and fruits.
