Diego, their first Mydegu, is the inspiration for their website and retail space. Diego was a rescue dog that they purchased from Pets at Home. They had spent a lot of time wandering from store to store looking for a new home, sporting a few scars (including the loss of half an ear!). When Mydegu took him home, they had a proper environment to live in aside from the glass tank at the pet store for the first time in his life. They was a very sociable and friendly degu who loved to be fussed, contrary to what you might expect given his turbulent past. Unfortunately, Diego recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but they now have two more Degus, Peanut and Hazel.
