Early in 1994, Paul Cavanaugh established Natures Select Dog Food. His interest in the pet food industry is sparked by two key trends: a rise in the popularity of healthy pet food and a rise in the number of households with two working adults. To address the demand for higher nutritional quality and to include the convenience of free home delivery, the next step was to develop a range of pet foods. Paul started his pet food company in the early 1990s out of his Placentia, California, home with these ideas in mind. After conducting an extensive investigation, Paul made contact with a person who had 60 years of experience creating pet food. Paul created the first Paul's Pet Food products, now known as Natures Select Dog Food, with his advice and knowledge.
