About Musicmaker
On November 2, 1981, Musicmaker was established on the north side of Dublin. They moved across the city to its current location at 29 Exchequer Street in 1986 from its previous location at Mary's Abbey, where it was located next to the bustling fruit market. Their three floors of departments include the infamous Drumgeon drum department, the Guitar Foyer, the Hitech department, and the beautiful wood clad Acoustic Room, all of which are just steps from Grafton Street, one of Europe's leading shopping streets. Musicmaker is widely acknowledged as one of the foundations of the Irish rock music industry. Its Exchequer street building is regarded as a Mecca for touring musicians and the next generation of rockers. They have supported the country's musicians for generations. Glen Hansard recently referred to the store as a vital artery in the Dublin rock scene, and even non-musicians should pay it a visit.
