About Icelandic Knitter
In Iceland, Magnsson is a prominent knitwear designer. She was born in 1969 and is both French and Icelandic, but she was raised in France. Before moving to Iceland in 1995, she made a complete life shift and began her career as a lawyer in Paris. She worked on a sheep farm while learning the language, and she soon went to the Iceland Academy of Arts to study textiles and fashion design as well as mountaineering. She worked as a mountain guide in the summer and a cook in the winter. Her unique approach to design and sense of style is largely due to the diverse skills she acquired in those early years, which heavily influence her work today. She is the author of two significant books on Icelandic Knitter patterns: Icelandic Knitter provides an overview of the various knitting traditions that existed in the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century.
