The Gentle Barn began on a half-acre property in the center of the San Fernando Valley, CA. In 2003 Ellie and Jay moved The store to a six-acre paradise in Santa Clarita, CA. The property is whole with large horse and cow pastures, a purple and white barnyard for the smaller animals, a natural vegetable garden, loads of shade trees, and a panoramic view of splendid mountains. Their over one hundred and seventy rescued animals are safe and joyful at The Gentle Barn, and there is lots of room to welcome their site visitors and the teens they host. Since its inception, The keep has saved heaps of animals and been host to over 500,000 people.
