Dramatists was established in 1936 to provide playwrights a national opportunity by publishing inexpensive versions of their plays and dealing with the performance rights of those works. It has steadily grown since then to become one of the premier theatre licensing and theatre publishing houses in the world. DPS offers an extensive list of titles, including many of the most important plays that preserve a rich theatrical history of the last century. Dramatists was acquired by Broadway Licensing in March 2021. Dramatist Drama Services works with thousands of theaters to ensure the future vitality of theaters. It is dedicated to providing a home for established writers and developing promising new playwrights.
