In 1970, Wonderword first joined the syndicate in Edmonton and Montreal. The Andrews McMill Syndicate of Kansas City was syndicated in 1980. It comes in two formats: a 15 × 15 grid from Monday to Saturday and a 20 × 20 grid on Sunday. For length reasons, some Sunday newspapers issued a 15 by 15 version in the name of TELEWORD. Wonderword was created by Canadian writer Jo Ouellet, and since 1980, David Ouellet has helped his mother create puzzles. By 1984, David created most of the stores, and in 1994 his name appeared as a co-author. After the unfortunate death of Jo Ouellet in 1997, David continued to shoot.
