About Del Art
Del Art provides an inclusive and crucial community resource that, through its collections, exhibitions, and programming, fosters creative energy that sustains, enriches, empowers, and inspires. It does this by bringing people closer to art. The Delaware Art Museum will audaciously take the lead in the area for accessibility, inclusivity, and relevance for the visual and performing arts. The Del Art is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is privately owned. EIN: 51-0065746. This organization is funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Delaware Division of the Arts, two state organizations. On them, The Division advertises art events in Delaware. The Art Center officially became the Delaware Art Museum in 1972 after receiving accreditation from the American Association of Museums. This was accompanied by the acknowledgement of the significance of the Museum and its collections on a national and worldwide scale.
