In 1987, they chose to establish a couple of lines of Chardonnay in their Saratoga terrace, both for finishing purposes and to understand their fantasies about being limited scale vintners. A couple of years after the fact, the wines created from this little lawn grape plantation were sufficient to offer to the general population. It was now that Clos framed into a business winery. The initially delivered wines were from the 1992 vintage. The following 15 years would take them from 200 instances of wine created to 80,000; 3/4 of a section of land to 150 sections of land planted and 20 full-time and 25 occasional workers. Along with their girls, Clos have made a multi-generational, family-claimed and worked winery. It is their fantasy that the third era will ultimately assume control over the business.
