About Chanhassen Arboretum
Chanhassen Arboretum is a tourist favorite, with 1,200 acres of gardens and trees, prairie and woods, and miles of trails. As the premier garden in the north, the Arboretum was born at the Center for Horticultural Research at the University of Minnesota and was founded in 1958 as a gift to the University of Minnesota in collaboration with the Men's Garden Club of Minneapolis, the Lake Minnesota Garden Club, the Minnesota State Horticultural Society and other community supporters. Arboretum's beautiful collection of gardens and plants, nature-inspired exhibitions, innovative learning and activities make it a valuable community resource and a popular attraction. Chanhassen Arboretum’s Peter C. Moe has been appointed director of the Minnesota Landscape Botanical Garden effective September 16, 2016. Moe was formerly director of Operations and Research.
