About Chado Tea Room
In 1990, Chado Tea Room opened a small teahouse on West Third Street. Chado Tea Room was almost an antique teahouse with only a few tables, but the walls had 300 canisters of tea from all over the world. Today, three locations in the Greater Los Angeles area are models of the American tea Renaissance. Their dedication to sharing their love for tea and refinement has influenced and inspired thousands of people and made them major contributors to tea's growth in the United States. Through programs such as the Los Angeles International Tea Festival and Alson's Disabled Brothers and Sisters Tea, they support tea art education at all levels, which the founder began in honor of her own disabled brother.
