Bob Chinn's was born on March 2, 1923, in Duluth, Minnesota, the third of seven children. After working at a laundry in California, Bob's parents moved to the Midwest and started a Chinese restaurant business. The boy, Bob, moved to the north side of Chicago, two blocks from Wrigley Field. His parents owned a popular Uptown restaurant called new Wilson village. Bob has plenty of opportunities to help young people in family businesses learn about the restaurant business. His favorite childhood memory is of the great depression, when his father lost his business and had to spend time with them.
