About Back Forty Smokehouse
Back Forty, a term used to describe the next 40 acres of ranch land, is a local restaurant that opened in historic Smithfield in 2013. Back Forty Smokehouse chose the old feed shop because they loved the agricultural history of Smithfield, now known as north Richland hills. They felt that the new Tex railroad train and their restaurant were just around the corner, giving the site a formerly small-town feel. Barbecue is as important to Texas as it is to its history. They put the same effort into planning the barbecue as they did in choosing the location. Their cow s and other meats are slowly smoked in oak barrels, along with their homemade noodles and the addictive banana pudding they make every day from scratch. If you're looking for a nostalgic Texan barbecue restaurant, head to Back Forty Smokehouse.
