Bloodshot Records is a free record name based in Chicago, IL. Since 1994, they have championed the music that prowls between classes. They have continuously been drawn to the great stuff settled within the dim, shapeless splits where punk, nation, soul, pop, bluegrass, blues and shake n roll blend and blend and change. They like craftsmen who work over American roots shapes with chains and velvet gloves with small respect for custom or convention, who aren't anxious to attack and caress these shapes and take music into strange and energizing waters. They do not tune in to the taste-makers or trend-watchers—hell, most of the time they do not indeed tune in to them. What they all share could be a punk/DIY ethic of expression; Bloodshot Records appreciate that music is as it were imaginative and curiously when you're willing to require chances with it, to take after your instinctual.
