Baby Phat is an American clothing brand founded by Kimora Lee Simmons. The brand started in 1999 and in December 2019, Baby Phat went live again. Kimora Lee Simmons founded urban women’s wear brand Phat Fashions LLC in 1999. Simons was initially disappointed with the prototype of Phat Farm’s women’s t shirt and was inspired to start the company. She described the shirt as “very sporty, very basic and a scaled-down version of what men wear” . Since then, she has designed a range of clothes for women, using her body as a guide, and has taken on the responsibility of designing Baby Phat.
