Aspen Music Festival, founded in 1949, is considered one of the top classical music festivals in the United States and is famous for its concert programs and music training. A typical eight-week summer includes more than 400 classical music events, including concerts by five orchestras, solo and chamber performances, complete operas, master classes, lectures and children's programs, attracting 100000 viewers. In winter, it plays a series of recitals and metropolitan operas on HD screens. In 1980, John Denver teamed up with the Aspen Festival Orchestra to perform for his TV special "Music and the Mountains", which was broadcast the following year on ABC. During their stay in Aspen, a number of artists and faculty members also recorded albums, including the Emerson string quartets, which recorded Shostakovich's Shostakovich: five albums of string quartets. The song comes from Harris Concert Hall in Aspen Music Festival and won the Grammy Award for Best Classical album in 2000.
