About Andrew Knapp
Andrew Knapp is a professional baseball catcher for the Detroit Tigers in the United States. He was born on November 9, 1991. He has previously represented the San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, Seattle Mariners, and Philadelphia Phillies in Major League Baseball. He played school baseball for the College of California, Berkeley. He was selected by the Phillies in the second round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. Over the course of four seasons, he progressed through the Phillies' minor league system and was named the team's best minor league player in 2015. Andrew Knapp, a switch hitter, made his big league debut in 2017 and spent five seasons as the team's primary backup catcher. He has been called one of the best backup catchers in baseball for his defensive skills and ability to handle the pitching staff.
