About Adelsheim
Luck and fate and a single-minded determination to make world-class wines in Oregon led David and Ginny to purchase their first 19 acres of land outside Newberg, Oregon in 1971. It was here that they decided to stake their claim to plant the first row of Pinot Noir on Quarter Mile Lane, and in 1978 established the first ever winery in the Chehalem Mountains Adelsheim. Since 1971 Adelsheim has been obsessed with pursuing benchmark wines to celebrate the unique wealth of their estate vineyards and Oregon has some of the most diverse soil types as well as elevation and exposure. As the founding winery of the first winery in the Willamette Valley and Chehalem Mountains, they have played an important role in almost every aspect of the Oregon wine story.
