About Woodside Orchards
Robert H. Gammon established Woodside Orchards in 1982 as a modest wholesale apple farm off Manor Lane in Jamesport, New York. Woodside Orchards began as a small apple orchard run by a family that sold fresh fruit and baked goods. After school Roberts children Robert L. Gammon (Weave) Scott Gammon went along with him in maintaining the business. The business expanded with the family, with Bob's wife Amy helping to make pies and cookies, Robert's daughter Laurie assisting with apple bread, Scott's wife Vicky assisting with apple butter and candy apples, and even the grandchildren Gayle, David, Julia, and Will assisting with The Apple Shed, doughnuts, and u-pick on busy weekends in the fall. In order to meet the growing demand for u-pick apples in the fall, Bob and Scott purchased the property in Aquebogue in 2002 and constructed a secondary location there.
