About Wheelhouse Games
With Canada barely four years created, the Prime Minister proposes a major undertaking: a Wheelhouse Games connecting the existing eastern provinces with the newly formed western province. The vast, unexplored hinterland loomed between them. It would be a nation-defining undertaking, opening up the resource-rich Canadian shield, lush grasslands, and beautiful Rocky Mountain Cordillera, influencing not just the nascent country's economics but also its identity. The Transcontinental is a medium-weight worker-placement game about the construction of Canada's Wheelhouse Games. It has award-winning mechanics as well as a fascinating historical narrative. The Transcontinental received the Canadian Game Design Award in 2019, and the Cardboard Edison Prize in 2020.
