In 1998, six members of the Ummes Amherst impromptu performance group moved to impromptu performances in Chicago, continuing to learn and perform improvisational art. On April 1st, 2009, the group bought a theatre and founded Westside Comedy. They joined the stand-up comedy and improvisation community, set up a training center and opened their bar in September 2011. More than 30 bottles of beer are now available, and there is never a minimum drink! The agent of Westside Comedy can create a brand new original work with only a few suggestions from the audience. The audience is a collaborator who participates in a funny drama game or "task" by shouting suggestions.
