When TheatreSports ™ was first performed in Seattle in 1982, it laid the foundation for Unexpected Productions. In 1983, TheatreSports ™ in Seattle began performing Monday night at Swannie's Comedy Underground. Since then, the troupe has performed at the Pioneer Square Theatre, the Rogue Lao Chao Theatre and the Group Theatre, and the audience has increased. In 1988, with the founding of Unexpected Production as a non-profit theater, the company moved from the group to the Intima Theater. In May 1991, Unexpected Productions moved into its own home at the "Market Theater" at Pike Place, where the crowds have been enjoying their work ever since. In the past ten years, they have produced three ongoing shows, more than forty original season shows, and more than forty improvisations in the form of ministers.
