The hope, dream, and goal of the pediatric oncology Treasury foundation is to create a Treasury at all pediatric oncology facilities throughout the country. With your help and support, this dream will come true. Treasure Chest project allows cancer patients at 58 pediatric cancer treatment centers, from birth to age 18, to choose age-appropriate toys to reward them for the painful but necessary surgery. The smaller toys are kept in Treasure Chest for children undergoing simple procedures such as blood tests. Larger, more expensive gifts are stored in cabinets and are dedicated to children who undergo extensive and painful procedures, such as spinal taps and bone marrow punctures. Currently, the pediatric cancer chest program provides comfort to more than 14,000 children and adolescents per month.
