Both the bottle's cap and the whiskey's name, Tincup Whiskey, are nods to this piece of Colorado history. In honor of Colorado's first whiskey drinkers and the tin cups from which they drank, they created the company. It was designed with the mountains in mind. A small amount of Colorado single malt whiskey is blended with Indiana-distilled and aged "High rye" bourbon. The Rocky Mountain water is then used to cut these whiskeys. The Colorado mining pioneers and the tin cups they used to drink whiskey inspired the name TINCUP.
