Theatrical Outfit company is Atlanta's third oldest professional theater company, founded in 1976 by Theatrical Outfit company in a converted laundromat in Virginia heights. Other locations in the company's early history include the 14th Kress store in Peachtree, where the current federal reserve bank is located, the 14th street theater and the rialto arts center at Georgia state university. In December 2004, after $5 million of repair and renovation, now known as the "city" city center building, located in Helen's Balzer theatre won the United States green building council and the urban land institute (LEED) issued by the energy and environmental design (LEED) silver certification (ULI) for the adaptive reuse of historical buildings in the urban environment and the implementation of innovative design function and obtain remarkable development.
