The Glass House was built by architect Philip Johnson from 1949 to 1995 and is a National Trust historical site located in New Canaan, Connecticut. This 49-acre idyllic landscape consists of 14 buildings, including a glass house (1949), which includes a permanent collection of 20th-century paintings and sculptures, as well as temporary exhibitions. The site can be visited from May to November, it is recommended to book in advance. The National Historic Preservation Trust is a privately-funded non-profit organization dedicated to saving American historical sites. The project is supported by the National Historical Protection Trust Fund ’s interpretation and education fund, which is a challenging grant from the National Humanities Foundation.
