About Textile Center Garage
As a national center for fiber art, the Textile Center Garage Textile Center is unique. The organization, which was founded by fiber artists and visionary patrons of the arts in 1994, was incorporated as a nonprofit. Local artists and guilds had limited opportunities to exhibit their work, increase participation, or pursue advanced training prior to the establishment of the Textile Center Garage Textile Center. In its first ten years, the Center brought together a variety of organizations to meet the needs of fiber artists who wanted a place to meet, exhibit, teach, and learn. One of the Center's founders played a crucial role in this endeavor: Margaret Miller served as the executive director of the organization for its first 18 years.
