About Teitel Brothers
Bronx's Little Italy. Encouraged by Teitel Brothers's cousins, they opened similar Italian stores in Brooklyn and Queens, and Teitels started operations in the Bronx to cater to Italians. Although the store seems to follow mainly Italian footsteps, Teitels still retains some Jewish traditions: they closed Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. At Teitel Brothers, they want to thank all dedicated customers. One of the most popular and enduring stores in the Bronx Little Italy region is a third-generation family business run by a Jewish immigrant family, not from Italy, but from Austria. Michael, 57, is a former chef who used to run an Italian restaurant in Safin, New York. Timmy Hung-Ming Shen is the latest graduate of Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. Tailors are divided by industry, brothers assimilated into regions, people, customs and lifestyles.
