They approach herbalism after over two decades of self-study and employing herbs and botanicals to establish a successful soap and cosmetics business (Hemlock Springs Soaps). Their background is completely unrelated to herbalism. Tangled Roots Herbal began their career in college admissions, dabbled in corporate sales (which they didn't much love), and spent several years as a Training Consultant for a prominent university in Boston. Following that, they spent several years collaborating with school systems around the country to build professional development training programs for K-12 teachers. But, herbalism and working with natural substances have always been something they have done on their own. They began making soap in 1999 and fell in love with it.
