About Stone Bridge
Stone Bridge founded in 1989 in Berkeley, California. Currently, they have published more than 150 books covering language, business, literature, manga, design, culture, etc. related to Japan. Its authors include Donald Ritchie and Frederick L. Scott. Ishibashi is appreciated for his references to Japanese popular culture, including manga and movies, and his approach to Japanese characters. In 1992, the company launched an international design revolution with the publication of Leonard Curran's book on wabi-sabi. Many Stonebridge Press books have been adopted by high school and college classrooms. Stone Bridge simply believes that Japan offers a great opportunity to re-examine Western values and connect with an emerging global culture that is increasingly centered on the Pacific Rim.
