About Station House
Station House was built upon the location of the ancient West Clare Railroad, in 1980. The initial house remains intaglio but has been expanded to accommodate the Cahill family & their family commerce. The house appreciates a conspicuous position as you enter Ennistymon town. The Cahill family is glad of the house's history, having elegantly amplified & redesigned the property. Station House is found on the closed limit gage West Clare line, which ran from Ennis to Kilrush and Kilkee on the Shannon Estuary. The line opened in stages in 1887 & 1895 but was closed by CIE in February 1961, this being Ireland's final limit gauge rail line. The station building at Ennistymon remains but has been amplified, especially in the location of the previous stages. At the west conclusion of the station, be that as it may, is the base of the stone-built water tower, and fair past this the railroad bridge over the Waterway Cullenagh.
