About Smith and Hook
Smith and Hook family established Smith & Hook on a former horse and cattle ranch in the hills of Monterey County more than 40 years ago, kicking off a decades-long investigation of Central Coast Cabernet Sauvignon. Smith & Hook started looking for new Cabernet Sauvignon in neighboring Paso Robles as Monterey's fledgling wine industry started to take shape. Along the way, they found a team of strong growers who shared their values in warmer areas of California's rocky coastline. Smith and Hook style developed over time: robust Cabernet-based reds with a lot of layers. Today, Smith & Hook wines combine fruit from five distinct Central Coast appellations, embracing the Central Coast's unrestrained spirit: San Benito County, Arroyo Seco, Paso Robles, the San Antonio Valley, and Hames Valley.
