About Skid Mark 4x4
Skid Mark 4x4 planned a big trip to Utah and Colorado in 2013 to spend two weeks with friends having fun on four-wheelers. They was trying to plan their trip and watching videos on YouTube about off-roading, but they couldn't figure out why there wasn't a skid plate that covered your bumper and rear hitch? Because it is typically mounted to the bottom of the frame, they knew the hitch receiver was extremely sturdy. Skid Mark 4x4 set out to weld a prototype after discussing the idea with a friend. Because they did not have a brake press, the skid plate was welded at a 45-degree angle as shown in the first image below. The skid plate clearly worked well after their amazing trip. Version 1 was born after the skid plate was redesigned to fit 95 percent of 4x4 hitch receivers.
