About Rose Customs
Rose Customs is a great example of how greatness can be achieved despite harsh upbringing. Tupac uses a rose in this poem, which is considered beautiful despite its flaws. Despite their thorns, roses are a symbol of love and beauty that should be avoided at all costs. People walked all over the concrete and didn't notice the rose's existence because the soil was hard and devoid of nutrients. The rose is a symbol of people and how beautiful, one-of-a-kind, and deserving of love they are, despite their faults. Rose Customs is a representation of the ghetto or any environment that is perceived as having nothing positive or useful to offer. This poem depicts Tupac's life in the sense that he came from a place that seemed to be forgotten by society, a place that no one really cared about, a place that seemed to keep a dysfunctional cycle going and didn't love or feed the people who lived there.
