About Rockford Speedway
Rockford Speedway is located on the north side of Rockford, Illinois. In 2019, this highway celebrated its 72nd anniversary of operation as the oldest professional and continuous sports venue in northern Illinois. Since the first season in 1948, the high shore quarter mile oval has been dubbed "the best racecourse in Central America". Rich racing tradition, this reputation is earned by holding large-scale events, such as the grandfather of all short-track post-race events, the National Short-Track Championship. Rockford Speedway is approved by the National Stock Racing Association (NASCAR) to participate in the NASCAR Whelan National Series. Competitors on the Rockford Circuit include the latest models, all-American athletes, American sprinters, road runners, Hornets, Winged Women and the No. 8 figure.
