Robertson's Beef Jerky business has existed starting around 1946, when they opened their most memorable store in midtown Marietta. In the good 'ol days, they could fit only 15 hams in their unassuming little smokehouse. However, similar to their family, their business developed. During the 1950s, Robertson's Beef Jerky started publicizing their smoked meats on expressway announcements. Whenever the mid '60s brought the structure of Interstate 35, things changed perpetually for their little business. What had been occasional spikes throughout the late spring and around Christmas became reliable all year business. This implied open doors for development. In 1972 they found out about an item called hamburger jerky. They inquired, "what the heck is meat jerky and how would you make it?" Experiments started and it was a moment hit.
