About Redford Theatre
On January 27, 1928, Redford Theatre began as a local cinema theater. America's Most Unique Suburban Playhouse is how it was billed. Since then, the theater has been in continuous operation with its full-size stage and three-story grand lobby. This was fortunate because it prevented the Redford Theatre and its theater organ from suffering from neglect, which led to the demise of several movie theaters. When the plans for the theater were created, silent movies were still being made, thus a Barton organ was placed as the theater was being constructed. The theater was created with a Japanese aesthetic in mind. The organ console was designed with the proper ornamentation.
