Paramount Bristol is a multi use performing arts venue that hosts music, dance, comedy, cinema, theater, and family entertainment in the center of downtown Bristol. Its opulent interior and recognizable marquee, which are listed on the national register of historic places, are typical of art deco movie palaces constructed in the 1930s. The theater is owned and run by The Paramount Foundation, a 501c enonprofit. Paramount Bristol has served as a recognizable landmark and a focal point of local culture for more than 90 years in the Bristol, twin city. Richly decorated interiors and recognizable marquees are hallmarks of art deco cinema palaces constructed in the 1930s. A group of concerned locals donated the money necessary to resurrect The Paramount in 1989 after realizing its special significance to the neighborhood.
